Hadong Wild Tea Cultural Festival
About the Festival
The Hadong Wild Tea Cultural Festival is a government-designated Honorary Culture and Tourism Festival held every May in Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, the site of Korea's first tea plantation. Hadong wild tea, grown in a blessed natural environment, has long been renowned for its superior taste and aroma. Following the 2023 Hadong World Tea Expo, the festival has enhanced its recognition as a "Tea Healing Cultural City" and increased the brand value of the tea industry and culture, marking its 29th anniversary in 2026. Visitors to Hadong in May, when the greenery is at its freshest, can experience special moments through a cup of tea and fully enjoy the taste and charm of Hadong through various healing programs such as "Busking in a Teacup," "Melody on Tea Leaves," tea classes, book talks, and walking the "Starry World Path in a Gourd." This year, in particular, a variety of Children's Day programs on May 5th will allow the whole family to enjoy the festivities together.
