About the Festival
The Hwangmaesan Royal Azalea Festival, held annually in spring around Hwangmaesan Mountain in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, is a representative natural landscape festival where visitors can admire the nation's largest royal azalea colony. The vast azalea plains, spread across altitudes of over 800m above sea level, create a spectacular pink wave, offering visitors exotic scenery and a special spring ambiance.During the festival, cultural and artistic performances, sales of local agricultural products, and various experiential programs are operated, allowing people of all ages to enjoy. In particular, the sunrise and sunset viewed from the peak of Hwangmaesan Mountain, harmonizing with the azaleas, present an unforgettable magnificent view, making it a popular spot for many tourists.
