About the Festival

The Gochang Green Barley Field Festival is a representative festival of Gochang-gun, centered around the green barley fields, one of the major ecological resources of Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk State. Since its first occurrence in 2004, it has been building a long history as the nation's premier landscape agriculture festival, attracting an average of 300,000 visitors annually. The most beautiful time during the growth of barley is said to be the "green barley" period. During this time when the barley looks most fantastic, from mid-April to mid-May every year, you can see the green barley fields stretching across approximately 770,000㎡ of land in the Hakwon Farm area of Gongeum-myeon, Gochang-gun.
