Gochang Moyangseong Festival

The Gochang Moyangseong Festival is a historical and cultural festival centered around Moyangseong Fortress, which is the best-preserved original fortress in Korea. Its signature program is Dapseongnori, a participatory event developed from a legend that says if you walk around the fortress once, leg ailments will be cured; twice, you will live a long and healthy life; and thrice, you will ascend to paradise. In addition, the festival features "Yagan Dapseong Ganggangsullae Dalbam," a night-time Dapseongnori combined with Ganggangsullae where locals and tourists mingle; a street parade with over 1,000 residents expressing the past, present, and future; "Returns 1453," an event themed "Journey to the Past" where visitors can explore inside Gochang Eupseong Fortress; and food stalls utilizing local Gochang specialties and a direct sales market.
