About the Festival

National Heritage Media Art is a cultural heritage festival held annually in various regions nationwide, featuring 'national heritage' as its theme. It is hosted by the National Heritage Administration and organized by the Korea National Heritage Foundation. Since its inception in 2021, this year, marking its 6th year, the festival will beautifully adorn national heritage sites in 12 regions through various programs utilizing the latest ICT technology. In 2026, media art will be presented against the backdrop of various cultural heritage sites, re-illuminating their history and maximizing their value. These sites include: Ganghwa 'Goryeogungji (Goryeo Palace Site)' and Cheorwon 'Nodongdangsa (Labor Party Headquarters)' in the Gyeonggi/Gangwon region; Gyeongju 'Daereungwon (Daereungwon Tomb Complex)', Yangsan 'Tongdosa Temple', Jinju 'Jinjuseong Fortress', and Tongyeong 'Samdosugun Tongjeyeong (Naval Headquarters of the Three Provinces)' in the Gyeongsang region; Gunsan 'Former Gunsan Customs House Main Building', Yeosu 'Jinnamgwan Hall', and Iksan 'Mireuksaji (Mireuksa Temple Site)' in the Jeolla region; and Buyeo 'Jeongnimsaji (Jeongnimsa Temple Site)', Asan 'Yi Chungmugong Yuheo (Historic Site of Admiral Yi Sun-sin)', and Cheongju 'Yongdusaji Cheoldanggan (Iron Flagpole of Yongdusa Temple Site)' in the Chungcheong region. Through this festival, visitors can encounter sparkling moments where past heritage connects to present life.
