*The festival content below is from the previous year (2025), and the 2026 festival content is currently being updated.* Mokpo, which opened its port in 1897, was a hub for trade, logistics, and transportation, enjoying the glory of being one of the nation's top 3 ports and top 6 cities in the past, leading the revitalization of the local economy. Currently, it is a central city in the southwestern coastal area. The Mokpo Port Festival uniquely recreates the traditional 'Pasi' (wave market) of Mokpo Port, full of harbor scents, at Samhakdo Island, where legends coexist, widely promoting its historical value. It is also an autumn festival filled with the romance of the abundant Mokpo Port, featuring events such as 'Pasi' auctions using seasonal seafood, and opportunities to grill and cook the auctioned seafood on the spot.
