Hamyang wild ginseng, grown in germanium-rich soil at altitudes above 500m, is known as masterpiece wild ginseng for its dense texture and high saponin content. It was the first in the country to implement a wild ginseng traceability system, allowing consumers to access accurate production information. Continuous quality control through the Wild Cultivated Ginseng Guardian program maintains its unique characteristics. Held at Hamyang Sangnim Park (Natural Monument No. 154), where a thousand-year mystery lives on, the festival features programs utilizing content that inherits the fading history and culture of wild ginseng and Simmani (wild ginseng hunters). It aims to re-examine the meaning and historical value of wild ginseng, expand sales channels for local agricultural and forest products using the brand image of clean wild ginseng, and revitalize the local economy by linking forest, culture, and tourism resources. It is held annually around September or October.
