2026 Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street 'Geotja-ing'

'Geotja-ing' combines a local dialect with the English suffix '-ing' to mean 'let's walk and enjoy Geumnam-ro together.' In line with Gwangju's declaration to transform into a 'Public Transport, Bicycle, and Pedestrian-friendly (Dae-Ja-Bo) City,' this event aims to overcome the climate crisis and create a street where relaxation and communication harmonize in the city center. In 2026, the event will be held on the first Saturday of every month from April to November. It provides an environment where citizens can walk freely, alongside various hands-on programs and cultural performances.
