The Diaspora Film Festival is a film festival held in Incheon Metropolitan City. It was conceived from the term "Diaspora," which refers to the lives of Jewish people who have maintained their culture despite being scattered across the world. Starting with the departure of Korea's first immigrant ship from Incheon Port to Hawaii in 1902, Incheon has become a city representing Korea's immigration history and preserving the stories of migration. The Diaspora Film Festival reflects on this historical significance, aims to stand in solidarity with the marginalized against discrimination and prejudice, and to spread the values of diversity and tolerance through film. The festival illuminates various issues related to diaspora, providing a platform to deeply explore migration issues in our society and presenting a foundation for coexistence and harmony to the audience. Since its inception in 2013, the Diaspora Film Festival has steadily grown and is now celebrating its 14th edition in Incheon, the city of hospitality, establishing itself as a representative film festival of Incheon.
