Every year in May and June, the Kkolgap Festival is held at Janghang Port in Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, hosted by the Seocheon-gun Fishermen's Association. At the festival grounds, visitors can enjoy various types of fresh sashimi and participate in tasting events designed to promote Seocheon's excellent seafood. Seafood and dried fish auctioned through the local fisheries cooperative will be available at affordable prices. Additionally, a waterfront sashimi cafe is operated where visitors can taste chewy sashimi while looking out over the Geumgang River from Janghang Port. The Kkolgap Festival offers a multi-faceted experience, allowing visitors to drive along the 10km Geumgang Estuary coastal road from the East Seocheon Tollgate and see sights like the Janghang Smelter chimney, an amusement park, the Hansan Sinseong-ri Reed Field (filming location for the movie JSA), and the Hansan Ramie Fabric Museum before filling up on food at the festival.
