Myeongju Puppet Festival

The Myeongju Puppet Festival, which began in 2014, is a puppet festival in the Yeongdong region that has been loved by Gangneung citizens to this day. Attracting nearly 10,000 visitors every year, it has established itself as a representative family festival in the Yeongdong region. You can encounter various genres of puppet shows such as hand puppet shows, paper cup puppet shows, puppet musicals, and shadow puppet shows. Side events include experiential programs and exhibition programs where children can have various experiences. Breaking away from the prejudice that puppet shows were only for children, it has leaped into a puppet festival that the whole family can enjoy by carefully selecting performances with solid stories, excellent acting, and directing.
