Welcome to Singwan-dong

Welcome to Singwan-dong is a youth culture-centered street festival held in the Daehak-ro area of Singwan-dong, Gongju-si. As part of the Cultural City project promoted by Gongju-si and the Gongju Cultural Tourism Foundation, it aims to foster Singwan-dong as a youth cultural hub and revitalize the local cultural ecosystem and commercial districts. Since its inception in 2022, the festival has focused on street performances and has gradually expanded its content to include busking competitions, street performances, beer festivals, flea markets, and hands-on programs. In 2025, the 'Welcome to Singwan-dong' brand was established through the installation of street signs and sculptures and navigation service listings. For 2026, the goal is to establish a sustainable festival model based on a cooperative system involving residents, merchants, universities, and youth. The 2026 festival is scheduled to be held from October 9 to 11 in the Singwan-dong Daehak-ro area, featuring main performances, national-scale street performances, local youth and young adult performance groups, programs linked to local businesses, and local currency coupon events. Additionally, it will be operated as a representative local street festival that encourages visitors to stay longer in connection with the Baekje Cultural Festival, promoting cultural and economic revitalization in the Singwan-dong area.
