Korea Youth Day Festival

Korea Youth Day is a statutory holiday that originated from a youth commemorative event proposed and led by the non-profit organization Youth & Future. Since 2016, Youth & Future has held annual Youth Day commemorative events in September to build social consensus for designating Youth Day as a statutory holiday and to increase public interest in promoting youth rights. Since 2017, it has been officially named the "Korea Youth Day Festival," evolving into a representative youth festival in Korea. Subsequently, on January 9, 2020, the "Framework Act on Young People," which included the designation of Youth Day as a statutory holiday, passed the National Assembly, and Youth Day was designated as a statutory holiday on the third Saturday of September each year. The Korea Youth Day Festival is held to spread the meaning of Youth Day, expand youth social participation, promote youth rights, and revitalize youth culture. This year, marking the 10th anniversary of Youth Day, the 10th Korea Youth Day Festival will be held in the Gwangalli area of Busan, a representative tourist destination in Korea. The festival operates programs covering various youth fields such as youth policy promotion, culture/arts, employment/entrepreneurship, performances, experiences, and the content industry. It is held as a representative youth festival in Korea where youth and citizens communicate and participate together through diverse content such as K-POP concerts, University Song Festivals, Korea Youth Dream Gala Concerts, Youth Film Awards, Korea Cheerleading Championships, and Creator Awards.
