Started in 1998 as the 'Independent Arts Festival' in Daehangno, the Seoul Fringe Festival is an annual summer event where theater, dance, music, performance, video, visual arts, exhibitions, and various artistic experiments that cannot be defined by a single genre come together. There is no screening of artists or selection of works. Believing that 'anyone can be an artist,' the festival opens participation opportunities to everyone. It supports and encourages artists to express and attempt the stories they want to tell in any space, whether it be a stage, a park, or elsewhere. Through the courage to reveal oneself, experiments that cross the boundaries of genres, and a process of sharing responsibility and respect, we create true artistic freedom. This year, under the slogan 'That we are together,' we aim to discover new ways of connection that we need right now.
