The Moonlight Gymnastics Busan Challenge is a Busan-specific sports program designed to encourage citizens who are not used to exercising or have little interest in it to participate easily and enjoyably, aiming to expand participation in sports, promote health, and create a vibrant nighttime leisure culture. Hosted and organized by Busan Metropolitan City, it is a citizen-participatory event where people can regularly enjoy sports under the moonlight on autumn nights in outdoor spaces such as Busan's representative parks and waterfront areas. The main program consists of various sports activities such as gymnastics, yoga, circuit training, Zumba, and children's exercises directly led by famous fitness influencers. Along with this, there are sports performances like Taekwondo, jump rope, boxing, and cheerleading, as well as cultural performances including magic, comedy, busking, and concerts. It is a festival-style event that also operates participatory events such as the Citizen Fitness Test, Fitness King Contest, Tabata/Spinning Challenge, and Random Play Dance Challenge. The venue features sports experience booths for archery, basketball, bowling, and golf, as well as health-related booths for fitness measurement, exercise prescription, taping, and pain care, with various experience programs for families. By combining sports programs with performances, participatory events, and family content, this citizen-participatory sports festival aims to lower the barrier to exercise and expand opportunities for daily sports participation.
