The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival

The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival is a cultural arts festival held in Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, designed to offer new ways of experiencing local spaces and cultural resources by combining them with various media content. This year, the festival focuses on the friendship between poet Ku Sang and painter Lee Jung-seop, expanding their lives and artistic worlds into literature, art, media, and performance content. Moving away from the traditional format of concentrating content in a single venue, it operates as a space-shifting festival where visitors move through everyday spaces across Waegwan-eup to experience the programs. Participants follow a set route and sequence of spaces to encounter exhibitions, media content, hands-on activities, and performances, with each space's characteristics linked to the content to form a unified festival experience. Through this, the festival aims to transform everyday local spaces into venues for cultural and artistic experiences and reinterpret local cultural resources and stories into new content. Furthermore, it aims to promote the value of literature and art through the relationship and works of the two artists, Ku Sang and Lee Jung-seop, while providing opportunities for residents and visitors to experience culture and art while walking through the spaces of Waegwan.
