The Heo Jun Festival is held every second week of October in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, where Master Heo Jun was born and wrote the Donguibogam, to honor his spirit of love for the people and the Donguibogam, the finest medical book in the East. The festival first began in 1999 around the Heoga Rock area where the Donguibogam was written. In 2023, it introduced a new concept and various programs reflecting the identity of the Heo Jun Festival and moved to the Seoul Botanic Park to promote Heo Jun and Gangseo to more people and ensure everyone can enjoy the festival safely. As Gangseo-gu's representative medical, health, and cultural festival, the Heo Jun Festival offers various cultural programs, including medical and health experience centers in collaboration with medical institutions, special exhibitions on Heo Jun and the Donguibogam, the Heo Jun Concert, Heo Jun Music Festival, Heo Jun Parade, and the Heo Jun Kids Jangwonjeon.
