Ureuk Cultural Festival

Starting as the Ureuk Art Festival in 1971, the Ureuk Culture Festival is a representative cultural and arts festival where you can experience the culture and art of Chungju while inheriting the spirit of the great musician Ureuk's song, dance, and music. The 54th Ureuk Culture Festival, under the slogan "Containing Tomorrow's Chungju in the Resonance of Ureuk," will be operated with a "Newtro" concept that modernly reinterprets the culture and sensibilities of the 80s and 90s. You can find performances and art competitions where traditional and modern arts harmonize, various exhibition and experience programs, and participation programs involving youth, young adults, citizens, and local artists. At the festival grounds, you can see and experience the creative works of local youth and artists, and a marketplace will be operated where you can enjoy Chungju's agricultural specialties and local food. The 54th Ureuk Culture Festival, where past culture and present art blend together, will be held from October 8 to 11, 2026, at the Chungju Tangeum Park area and the Chungju Cultural Center.
