Gijang Eupseong Fortress Festival

The "2026 Gijang-eupseong Fortress Festival" is a cultural tourism experience-based festival held from October 9th to 11th on the lawn in front of the Gijang Modern History Museum and the surrounding area. Set against the backdrop of local historical and cultural spaces such as Gijang-eupseong Fortress and the Modern History Museum, the event features performances, reading, movies, experiences, and commentary programs. Key programs include the Eupseong Music Play Bar, Book Concert, Neighborhood BIFF, traditional performance arts, challenge dances, Pungnyu Padong performances, reading clubs, and a pet reels video festival. At the Gijang Modern History Museum, visitors can enjoy pop-up workshop experiences, "Slowness and Rest" healing experiences, and Gijang-eupseong Fortress walking docent tours. During the festival, permanent experience programs such as the Gijang Aekmagi (Warding off Evil) Lab, Pet Stone Adoption Center, Eupseong Goods Shop, and Eupseong Play Zone are also operated. The Gijang-eupseong Fortress Festival is a festival composed of programs where visitors can directly participate and experience local historical and cultural resources, rather than being limited to performance and exhibition-centered viewing.
