The Hapcheon Hwangto Hanu Festival is an annual autumn event launched in 2023 by Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, to promote the local beef brand "Hapcheon Hwangto Hanu," and it marks its fourth anniversary this year. Hapcheon Hwangto Hanu is a brand registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office in 1999 and co-managed by Hapcheon-gun and the Hapcheon Livestock Cooperative. The cattle are fed a specialized diet containing red clay (hwangto) for over 16 months, resulting in tender meat and a rich flavor highly preferred by consumers. Hosted and organized by the Hapcheon Livestock Cooperative and sponsored by Hapcheon-gun, the festival has seen steady growth in both visitor numbers and sales. The first festival in October 2023 attracted approximately 30,000 visitors, while the third festival in 2025 drew about 79,000 visitors over three days and recorded 1.2 billion KRW in sales, establishing itself as a representative brand event for Hapcheon. Building on this momentum, the 4th festival is expected to feature an expanded scale and more diverse programs, leveraging the experience accumulated from previous years.
