The 14th German Village Beer Festival is a representative cultural tourism festival of Namhae-gun, held based on the exotic scenery of the German Village and the historical significance of the dispatch to Germany. The German Village is a place where overseas Koreans who worked as miners and nurses in Germany in the 1960s and 1970s settled after returning home, preserving the lives of dispatched workers and the history of Korea-Germany exchange. Motivated by Oktoberfest, Germany's representative beer festival, the festival offers various German-style food, beer, music, parades, and experiential programs. In particular, it links the history of the dispatch to Germany and the identity of the German Village with festival content to promote the region's historical and cultural value and is developing into a global cultural tourism festival that domestic and international tourists can enjoy together.
