The 28th Jeongdong Culture Festival, hosted by Kyunghyang Shinmun, will be held from October 16 to 17 in the Jeongdong-gil area of Jung-gu, Seoul. Jeongdong-gil, which stretches from Kyunghyang Shinmun to the Seoul Museum of Art and Deoksugung Palace's Daehanmun Gate, was a center of diplomacy, culture, and education during the Korean Empire, serving as a space where long history and new culture coexist. This year's festival presents a contemporary reinterpretation of Jeongdong's history and tradition under the new concept "Neo-Jeongdong: Pan." Over the two days, street parades reinterpreting traditional performances and stages by contemporary artists based on Korean traditional music (Gugak) will take place along Jeongdong-gil. With space decorations using rice straw and F&B programs, the entire Jeongdong-gil will be transformed into a new "Pan" (performance arena).
